Introduction of the department
Establishment: The Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department at Shulan (Hangzhou) Hospital was established in December 2015, and led by Professor Dr. Shusen Zheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The medical team consist of 16 professors and chief physicians specializing in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, with a total of 42 physicians, 40% of whom hold doctoral degrees. The department currently operates four wards, with 274 inpatient beds.
Scope of Diagnosis and Treatment
The Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department, along with its liver transplantation team, boasts strong technical expertise and performs a wide range of liver transplantation surgeries. The team has extensive experience and well-established techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of complex conditions such as hepatic tumors, cholelithiasis, intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile duct stones, biliary tumors, pancreatic tumors, severe pancreatitis, and portal hypertension. The majority of these surgeries are performed laparoscopically.
