Establishment: Founded in November 2015, the department is a key specialty of the hospital. It currently employs 21 medical professionals, including 4 chief physicians specializing in gastrointestinal surgery, 3 attending physicians, and has 35 inpatient beds.
Core Focus: Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal, anorectal, and abdominal wall hernia conditions, the department provides comprehensive medical services covering prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Scope of Diagnosis and Treatment
1. Common and Frequently Occurring Diseases: Gastrointestinal tumors such as gastric cancer and colorectal cancer; common anorectal conditions including hemorrhoids, perianal abscesses, anal fissures, and fistulas; abdominal wall diseases such as inguinal hernias, incisional hernias, umbilical hernias, and parastomal hernias; acute abdominal conditions such as gastrointestinal perforation, intestinal obstruction, and appendicitis; conditions such as superficial and abdominal wall masses and abscesses. Gastrointestinal diseases including chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric ulcers, Helicobacter pylori infections, gastrointestinal polyps, submucosal tumors, early-stage cancers; inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
2. Complex and Severe Conditions: Sphincter-preserving surgery for ultra-low rectal cancer, extended radical surgery for gastrointestinal tumors combined with organ resection; complex anal fistulas, rectovaginal fistulas, refractory constipation, and other challenging anorectal disorders; treatment of gastrointestinal fistulas; diagnosis and treatment of chronic abdominal pain.
3. Specialized Services: Laparoscopic radical surgery for gastric and colorectal cancers; laparoscopic abdominal wall hernia repair; early-stage gastrointestinal tumor screening through endoscopic gastrointestinal examinations, as well as endoscopic treatment of gastrointestinal polyps, adenomas, and early cancers.
