Introduction of the department

    The Shulan Obstetrics Center boasts an elite team with extensive experience in obstetrics and gynecology, profound professional knowledge, advanced technical skills, and a rigorous work ethic. Most of the team members have experience working in large, Grade-A tertiary hospitals. The center offers comprehensive, high-quality, and safe medical services to pregnant women and new mothers.

    Founded on April 1st, 2016, the center currently has 10 doctors, including 3 chief physicians, 2 associate chief physicians, 3 attending physicians, and 2 resident physicians. Additionally, the team consist of 2 Ph.D. candidates, 5 master's degree students, and 21 midwives and nurses. The center operates 20 beds.

    The center specializes in the screening, monitoring, and treatment of high-risk pregnancies; management of pregnancy-related complications such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, SLE, and chronic liver disease; and handling pregnancy-related complications like hypertensive disorders, placenta previa, placental abruption, abnormal fetal positioning, intrahepatic cholestasis, oligohydramnios (polyhydramnios), etc. With extensive clinical experience, the center is proficient in managing difficult labor, high-risk pregnancies, and obstetric complications. The multidisciplinary obstetrics team is highly capable in managing critically ill obstetric patients.

    The center is skilled in performing various complex procedures, including cesarean sections, forceps-assisted deliveries, external cephalic version (ECV) for breech presentations, and vaginal deliveries after cesarean section (TOLAC). It also offers routine gynecological surgeries related to pregnancy, such as painless abortion, medical abortion, IUD insertion and removal, myomectomy, infertility treatments, ovarian cystectomy, endometriosis, endometrial polyps, intrauterine adhesions, stress urinary incontinence, vaginal wall prolapse, and uterine prolapse.

    Located on the 7th floor of Building 1, the obstetrics ward offers spacious and comfortable, hotel-like rooms, including double rooms and single rooms with private bathrooms. The ward is equipped with centralized fetal heart rate monitoring for continuous monitoring of all hospitalized pregnant women. It also features the world’s most advanced mobile bedside bathing and massage beds, with opportunities for parents to observe and learn bathing and massage techniques.
