Shulan rare disease center was established in September 2016, The main objective of the center is to profit the clinical and scientific research of rare diseases, improve the current situation. Professor Shou-zhang Fei, vice president of the Shulan hospital and kidney disease expert, served as the director of the center, and Academician Lan-juan Li, an famous infectious disease expert, served as the consultant of the center. At present, the center has gathered hundreds of peer experts at home and abroad to provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients with rare diseases. In 2019, our center and the  Rare Disease Care Action Project of the Red Cross Foundation of China established the "Shulan Rare Disease Training Center" to actively carry out the training of talents in urgent needed rare diseases and the promotion the relevant knowledge to public. The center is located in building 2, Shulan hospital, No. 848, Dongxin Road, Xiacheng District, Hangzhou, covering an area of more than 800 square meters, including the Second-Generation high-throughput sequencer MGI seq-2000, the standard 8-cells NGS sequencing laboratory and biological information analysis platform, rely on the advanced gene diagnosis and high-throughput sequencing platform, as well as the genetic expert team of NGS data analysis and Shulan rare disease center. The fields that we have been included: genetic diagnosis of rare and difficult diseases, screening of neonatal metabolic diseases, safe medication for children and adults, early diagnosis of tumors and targeted gene detection for tumor Precision medicine, rapid detection of pathogen mNGS, etc.
